AmInvestment Bank wins Islamic investment banking award

AmInvestment Bank Berhad recently received the “Most Outstanding Islamic Investment Banking” award at the KLIFF Islamic Finance Awards 2007. The awards ceremony was held in conjunction with the 4th Kuala Lumpur Islamic Finance Forum (KLIFF 2007) from 19 to 20 November 2007.

This is the second time AmInvestment Bank has received an award from KLIFF. In 2005, AmInvestment Bank received the "Most Innovative Islamic Financial Products" award during the Islamic Banking Awards held in conjunction with KLIFF 2005 for its "Sukuk Al Mudharabah" product.

“We are honoured to receive this prestigious award, which is a testament to our strengths in Islamic finance, further elevating the Group’s position as one of the top investment banking groups in Malaysia. We have set new benchmarks for the marketplace through the introduction of new and innovative Islamic capital market instruments, through customised solutions. This is evident by the many awards and accolades we’ve received over the years, and the many firsts in the Malaysian and global market,” said AmBank Group Chairman Tan Sri Dato’ Azman Hashim

The objective of the awards is to honour and appreciate efforts of the institutions and organisations that have given significant contribution in developing the industry. The event was held in collaboration with The Centre for Research and Training (CERT) together with the host, Halal Industry Development Corporation, and in collaboration with Dow Jones Islamic Market Indexes, the International Institute of Islamic Finance (IIIF), and Messrs Hisham, Sobri & Kadir.

KLIFF 2007 aimed to serve as an avenue for parties to jointly participate in exploring and unlocking the potential of the industry as well as discussing the mechanisms and ways to confront the challenges waiting ahead. The conference generated new enthusiasm to sustain the momentum in the development of global Islamic banking and finance.

The prestigious annual event gathered a pool of local and international industry experts ranging from regulatory authorities, Shariah scholars, bankers, legal practitioners, Takaful operators, consultants, and academicians to share with the delegates their views and experiences in developing Islamic banking and finance around the globe.

AmInvestment Bank Group is a leading financial services provider in Islamic capital markets, and with its vast experience, provides a full range of expertise in structuring customised financial solutions in raising Shariah-compliant products, including sukuk, for corporates and government-linked entities wishing to enter the Islamic market via both local and offshore markets. AmInvestment Bank Group also provides a comprehensive range of capital market and corporate advisory services such as initial public offerings of Shariah-compliant companies on Bursa Malaysia, structuring and listing of Islamic Real Estate Investment Trusts, as well as other Islamic equity and equity-linked fund-raising.
